RECOMMENDED SCOPE FOR GRZ2

Post by amythntr »

…. Having resigned myself that I will be shooting the lower poundage GRZ2 at my New York property… I now turn my sights (pun intended) on what scope to adorn it with…. I want a longer scope since the overall length is longer on the GRZ2 and have shorter arms….I have a Vortex which is overkill or I can take the Crossbones off of my son’s 380 …. He’s gone compound…..

…..any other ideas?

That bow shoots at 300 fps probably more like 280 with our zombies.
A nikon p3 is calibrated for a 300 for crossbow.
150 bucks. No frills clear as a bell scope.l love the simple traditional reticle.

Vixen 2, metal ibex,Phoenix, sapphire, matrix 330 ,matrix 355 ,vortex and baby grand piano y25 relayer.
Trigger tecs, leupold crossbones and nikon bolts.
Zombie slayers and mostly swat broadheads.

I would do the Crossbones if it were me. One of my faves.

I have both and the crossbones is my hands down favorite but the bolt/p3 is a lot more compact l would save the coveted crossbones for a "better" bow they are precious in my opinion and belong on your favorite crossbow.
My eyes can't tell any clarity difference between the two the crossbones is maby 5 minutes brighter at dust but at that point its time you should be out anyway
On the 305 fps bows l set mt 20 yard an inch high and the other yardages are spot on no worry about lack of a speed dial..

I'd recommend an illuminated scope, especially if you're hunting in the woods where light fades more quickly than official dusk time.

I've got Hawke XB1 and Excalibur Twilight DLX (both illuminated) and love both of them! The DLX is longer like a traditional riflescope and gathers light nicely.

....I happen to totally agree with you Paul. Spoke to my middle guy Christopher...he will be shooting the compound up at our property. He said it is OK to pull the Crossbones of of his to use on the GRZ2....so that will be the periscope that I will be using this year.....super pumped.....
