Opening day

Post by flinthead »

SC bow season opens in the morning for my Game Zone. I have plenty of deer coming in but it’s buck only until September 15th… I’m guessing it’s mostly doe and yearlings. If a buck does come in the morning, he’s probably getting an arrow! I’m still undecided on a bow,,, but I’m thinking my Phoenix right now. Good luck this season guys!!

Good luck Mark when l was on vacation it was cooler in myrtle beach than the 600 miles North to pa. Who wants to deal with a carcass.
Crazy hot here ...l would fish but the lake is green. It's just too hot to even practice can't stand the heat.

Good luck on your opening day! I'm three weeks out here from being able to shoot doe in VA, 6 weeks to either sex in WV and 7 weeks from either sex in VA.

Today was stand prep day for me. I prepped two and trimmed shooting lanes in the morning before rain ran me off. I needed a break anyway. I looked like I had jumped in a lake from all of the humidity. Food and a shower and things cleared off a little so I went back to hang one new set and trimmed shooting lanes for it. Now its time for my second shower since noon.

I did find an early buck rub right out in front of my primary stand. I normally don't find any until November.

You should’ve stopped by on your way to Dirty Myrtle Joe… if you came down 601 out of NC, you drove right by my house in Pageland, SC.

Lots of birds, squirrels, and woodpeckers, but no bucks… I did bump a doe going in this morning. I do love opening day though… I always thank God for allowing me to be back in the woods and enjoy his beautiful creation.
