Gold Rail Exocet

Post by onequillkid »

Just bought 1, it came with the sights on it no scope rail. Also came with a quiver and cocking rope, it does have the mag tipped limbs. It looks like new and I couldn't resist the price. Any information would be appreciated 165, 175, I don't know. Thanks in advance to anyone that responds.

I have one I bought a few years ago mine came with most of the original paper work , pep sight ,right stuff package from factory.
I believe it is 165 lbs.
The factory supplied 2117 bolts in the package.
You can get carved tip strings from Danny Miller.
I love the retro camo.
I am away from home at the moment so I do not have it handy.
I have not shot mine very much but it is a prised posession of mine .
I found the pep sights disapointing to my supprise and mounted a excal scope on mine.
It is a classic bow for sure.

It will be a 175. They came with mag tips and a machined riser as well as carved tips with a cast riser.

Come to think about it, it could be a 165 with newer limbs. Most of the 165s had an auto safety. But like Owl Creek said, how about some pics!

The "gold" rail was used when Excalibur had a relationship with Bear Archery up until 1999-2000.
By your description of having a "golden rail" I assume that it's a 165' Exocet with 4-colour house painted camo and a cast aluminium riser. I used to own one of them.
Of course, pics would help identify it for sure.

This is not my thread but I just took a picture of mine with my phone but posting pictures never works for me , I also took a picture of the bow literature the Exocet in those days was 165 lbs and launched a arrow at an amazing 280 fps.
I could text someone the pictures if they wanted to post them.

My bronze rail Exocet is a carved tip, cast riser version. Think 165. I just sold the Bronze topped scope that was on it. It was Bronze on top part of scope only and blue/black on bottom part. Had a regular blue/black mount though.

That is the model I have but the scope is not from the same period, I would like to see one with the scope you describe.

I'm just wondering. Does your Exocet look like this one?
