Take down a non TD?

Post by XB I GO »

Our planned trips will be here soon. First time taking plane to get there. No hard case at the moment. Can I take down the Matrix 380 and Mag 340? I’d like to use a plain rectangular case. What’s the best way?

For my Axe340 I use a 28" Savior case I got of Ebay.
Thread the bolt back into the end of the rail assembly so you don't lose it. This case fits everything need plus a bunch of stuff I don't need.
Hope this helps

On my Axe I remove the riser assembly with the single hex head bolt above the stirrup. Just make sure you keep the wrench you need for reassembly and the riser bolt with the bow.

Also the 380 will need a longer case as it's around 30" long.
If you have some extra foam it wouldn't hurt to add some padding where you can fit it.

If you need pics just holler

X3 I take mine down with the single riser bolt every time I travel to hunt. Zero POI change.

Taking the limbs or the riser assembly will not change POI.. if space is at a premium, remove the limbs but if not, why go through the hassle. There are less things to go wrong and less tools to forget or misplace with just the riser assembly.
How is your dad XB? Well I expect!

XB I GO, when I have flown, I use a 36” tactical rifle case. Take riser/limb assembly off and have a stock, rail, scope assembly and a riser , limb assembly. Takes one wrench to be back in business.

Ok I got it. Take the whole ride off. Even leave the string on.

My Dad is getting better but has a lot of complications. He was supposed to be back to usual in 2 days. It’s day 10 and he can just not talk good. Can’t walk by himself yet. Other little things. The doctor said it will improve and my Dad said he’s tired of this and wants to check the game cameras.
