Assassin 420 TD issue

Post by cantgetright »

A buddy just bought this xbow and we took it out first time today. First shot went as planned but after that he was unable to get the sliding catch to release and push forward. I know he used too much force on the release button as I was trying to explain that he needed to release pressure with the lever and the button will work fine. But I was to late and he forced the button down. Could this have damaged something as the sliding catch will no longer release? Is it a simple fix or will this require repair? Thanks

Do you mean it is stuck in the cocked position and will not release and go forward to allow you to engage the string or do you mean it will not release the string?

Crank the trigger unit back as if to cock it and push on the release. It sounds like the cocking cord is under tension.
