Saving Gas on the Hunt

Post by ko4nrbs »

Ordered a pickup tent to use when I hunt the wilderness area. Gas prices prohibits commuting back and forth daily, at least with my truck. I plan on camping 2 or 3 nights then come home to rest up for the next trip. As steep and hilly as this area is 2 or 3 day hunts is about all I can do until I get the scouting done. If I was sitting over likely spots I could stay longer. The hiking up and down the hills is what wears me down.

A guy on YouTube drives with it on the truck for short distances at a max of about 35mph. I plan on doing that to.

I also got a truck tent it’s the Napier Backroadz Truck Tent. I really like it quick and easy to put up  I only heat it before I sleep and when I wake up the rest of the time it’s turned off, I heat with a mr buddy heater fuel supplied by a 5lbs propane tank. I also use a carbon dioxide/smoke detector you can never be too safe. A good sleeping bag and I’m pretty well comfy. Saves gas money and waking up later instead at 2 in the morning :D

Safety is important! Our family lost three friends years ago on an early spring fishing trip from a kerosene heater in the bed of their truck with a cap on it. Be safe guys!
The alarm for emissions is worth every penny!

Enjoy the season guys!

My problem with the gas prices is that there is no reason for it at all.
I don't want to post political but this crisis is "man" made not due to environmental or a hurricane that's what is extremely bothering.
No new taxes though . That really eases my mind .
My propane was over 5 bucks a gallon last delivered people are literally gonna freeze because of this nonsense .
And as Dan said . Some will die doing simple things to get by.
