What a beautiful morning to hunt!

Post by Riflemanz »

Shooting time starts at around 6:15 this morning.

I Made it to the tree stand at 7:30 a.m. At 7:45am two doe are walking up to my stand, I shoot a slick trick at the lead doe and hit her front shoulder and hit her good because she’s stumbling on the way out. I figured I’ll wait till 8:30 and climb down. At 8:00 am I have a doe about 60yds away walking to the backside of my stand, she gets to 40 and I didn’t like the shot so she walks out to the field and turns and starts walking the edge of the tree line towards me. At 30yds I get the bow on her and she’s looking at me, I shoot a slick trick at her and she stumbles all of 50 yds and falls down. I can see her from my stand. So Now I call my brother and a friend of mine for help. I wait until 8:30 and climb down. I gut the second doe and my friend arrives. We hauled that doe back to the truck. We now start trailing the 1st doe and find the arrow broken off. I have like 5” of my arrow. She’s got the rest in her. My friend finds little drops of blood and we see the direction she’s headed. I get to the edge on the woods and I tell my Buddy she’s headed for that woods. I walk into that woods and she gets up and runs 20 yds and beds down. I grab my bow and walk up to her and shoot a rage thru her and that did the job. She went 700 yds from where I shot her. You can see the entrance wound. I’m tired now!
