Spent a little over two days scouting the area I found all the rubs and scrapes in. Still hunted and had a great time. Only saw one doe and she was too far away to get a shot. Feels good to have this area pretty much figured out. Took a while to pattern where the deer are traveling. It's a very big area. My plan is to stay as close to the main hiking trail and parking area as possible and still be where the deer are. Too old to drag deer and and equipment up and down these hills. Note I didn't say I have the deer figured out!!

Checked my camera I left there the last time I was there. Was pleased to see this guy. The camera is an old Moultrie M80XT.
1st time he showed up.

Also had pics of a doe and a spike. Going to set my stand up at the intersection of the deer trail and the old logging road they are using.

In this particular area Dec. 9th thru the 24th.

When Alabama's deer herds were repopulated in the middle of the 20th century deer were used from many different states. The rut in Alabama is all over the board.
Here is the map:

Going to finish up scouting the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge soon and start hunting there some as well. The rut there runs from January 9th thru the 24th.
