Another Mag 340 success on same day

I got a buck this morning. This afternoon one of our neighbors who works for my Dad said his son wanted to hunt a deer and had not before. I volunteered to guide him in my spot and loan him my Mag 340. I loaded the same bolt I used this morning. I did sharpen the blades and replace one vane. Anyway, right before dark this doe came up to the back of the blind. It was about 10 feet away and my new friend said it was too close in the scope. I told him to line up the crosshairs and then just look down the bolt and line it up and shoot. He hit it right on the front of the shoulder almost straight in. The bolt buried and when the deer ran I saw some of the bolt come back out. About half broke off and came out but the front of the bolt went all the way through the deer. I was relieved that I was able to help Dillon get his deer.

Thumbs up I think that I have been more excited for the person I took hunting for harvesting a deer than for myself. Your scouting,setting up and all the work you put into helping someone else is a great feeling. Hats off to you !!

That's awesome! It must have been intense for a new hunter to have a deer at 10 feet at ground level. That's crazy close for anyone.
