My Mom pass on New Year's Eve 2016. Sadly missed every day. Looks like they're waiting on the other side. I took this last night, hoping the big buck would come out, but nope. Added a link for a good tune. I'm a rocker at heart, but have really started listening to country music lately.

Dan...I empathize with ya. My Mom passed away in 2016 also. Then my Dad 2 years ago the week of Father's Day.
Our loved ones my be out of our physical sight, but thay are never out of our hearts nor our "mind's eye". We can still recall the sound of thier voices and see every wrinkle on thier faces.
GOD gave us that "ability" to see what is now gone home from us in order to show us that life does indeed go on past this ball of dirt we live on!!
One day our "race" will be complete. Then we shall join them once more. And as the old song says...."What a Wonderful Day that will Be"!!
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "Wow, What a Ride!

Mom wandered a year ago last October.
There isn't a single day that I don't think of, and miss her.
Always will.

She joined a lengthy list of fine folks in our line that did the same.
And even more have now joined her.

I take some solace in knowing she is holding a place by the fire for me when my time comes...

Sorry to hear xcalibur. My mom has been gone close to ten years now. My father in laws mother lived close to 100 years and one thing I noticed is that no matter the age, your never “prepared” to be without

I have been richly blessed with the parents I had. My Dad got his wings on Christmas Eve 2021. I was very conflicted to be at his bedside having flashbacks of when I lost my wife. But after I had talked with my beautiful daughter,I changed my mind and stayed overnight to be with him. It was very peaceful. It's always tough loosing someone you love, but I sure am glad I was with him. And,what a beautiful day to pass.It will be a special memory for me.

I haven't heard the "wings" expression for years! Thank you for bringing it back for me! I always thought it was the most appropriate way of describing a person's departure from this earth.
