Congrats on the recovery. Never a fun thing when they don't go down and stay down.
My third doe this year was quartering towards me. I let the executioner fly when she was 18 yards away and put her head down to eat. The arrow entered the right side of her neck slicing the jugular and passed through one lung before exiting the left side of her rib area. She left a blood trail that you could follow in the dark. She went about 100 yards and laid down when she ran out of blood. Took the brother in-laws UTV to recover her as she crossed a trail leading to the neighbors swamp and laid down about 20 yards into it.
I needed a twinstrike tonight!
