Lighted Nocks

Post by AJ01 »

For those individuals who fling "lighted nocks", what's your "go to" nock? And why that particular nock?

Thus far the Excalibur # GTF Lumenoks have never let me down and fail. One year I was bear hunting with Big John and after arrowing a nice bear he let the lit Lum. GTF sit on the cottage deck for 4.5 days before the battery drained.

Me too, but in all honestly the last bear and deer I shot the Luminock did not stay lite after impact.

But up to it was bright and easy to follow on video

GTF Lumenoks for me as well. They just plain work. I have had some turn off as well, but generally after a pass through when the arrow impacts a hard object like a tree or rock. The bounce back effect causes the nock to back out enough to turn it off.

Lumenoks. They are the most simple and the brightest I've seen.

Lumenoks here too. They work 100%. I tried the NuFletch igniters for awhile but they were not as reliable....however I will say that company helped me out by making a nock to fit a GT Nitro Pro arrow. It is heavier at 13 point something GPI so the ID is smaller and no one else had one. They made me some for a bison hunt I was going on.

I have no experience with any lighted nocks other than Lumenocks because I am satisfied with them. They have lighted up every time I have shot one and they glow brightly on the way to my target continue to glow after the shot. Not really a complaint, but they sometimes light up spontaneously and are a little hard to turn off. Maybe I don't install them correctly but I just pull back on them and bend them a little and they turn off until they are shot. I am not looking to replace them.

Lumenoks, huh? :eusa-think:

Okay, it seems we all agree, they work. I've got some I have had for many years now. I like the one's with the replaceable batteries.
My only complaint is that sometimes they can be a tad difficult to turn off. Probably due to old, beat-up stiff fingers! :eusa-doh:

But like a wise man once said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

I have looked at others, but I always ended up back with the Lumenoks. To me, they are simply the smartest choice.

Install Lunenoks between 20 and 40 lb pressure.
20 lb is roughly thumb pressure and 40 lb is about palm pressure in the meaty part.
If Lumenoks become difficult to extinguish scrape a bit of plastic insert material off with a blade to reduce pressure slightly.

Not only do I shoot Lumenoks… I shoot the 20” Lumenarrows out of my Exo’s. Really accurate and they weigh in at 450 grains for a little more juice.

I used to use the lumenoks and had great success but wanted to try something different. I installed the igniter system from Nufletch and I really like them. Easy to install and turn off. The only downfall is that you have to glue the aluminum nock insert into your arrow. I used both green and red but have stayed with green. They seem to last longer and are brighter at dusk. They are a bit hard to get here in Ontario but ordered direct from the manufacture. Had to wait awhile on the shipping. Lumenocks have been great and are easily obtained on Amazon and are cheaper.

These GTF Lumenocks look very interesting and I think I might give them a try. Does anybody know how much they weigh?
