Never Rains But It Pours

Post by IronNoggin »

Some here were aware of the recent surgery I had done on my right eye. That one is up to four surgeries now & counting.

Coincidentally, the day after that procedure, my left eye suddenly became very blurry, not focusing as it should and with distorted vision dead center.

Today that was diagnosed as Weiss Ring. Basically a large section of the vitreous (the gel-like fluid that fills your eye) detached from the retina in that eye.

They suspect it may heal itself, a process taking up to six months.
If it doesn't surgery will be required... again.

Vitreous Detachment

Can't seem to catch a break these days... :(

Nog I'm with you. Getting older ain't for sissies, and doing what we have enjoyed for many years starts to get a bit harder. I hope they get this worked out right for you, no matter missing a season. I'll be praying for you bud, and myself.

My thoughts exactly!! I get up every morning and say, "If I'd have known I was going to live this long, I'd taken better care of myself"!! And we all know that's a lie!! In my 20's, 30's and even early 40's, I thought I was bullet proof. Then the bottom fell out.

Matt I sure hope your sight corrects itself. You have me and "The Boss" praying for you! I'll add ya to the "prayer list" at church too!!
Every little bit counts in my book!

Hope it all gets better for you Matt. Welcome to the last half, it isn't better but it's all we have! :shifty:
I had a blister in my right eye and there was a blurred ring in the center of what I looked at. It was a blister caused by the pumps that sit between the layers of your retina that stopped working. I think I was in 5 times for tests with a stinking super bright light end eye drops I hate. They were going to laser the retina to relieve the pressure at the blister but a few weeks prior to surgery it went away :eusa-dance: . It comes and goes to a very lesser degree but I ain't going back unless is much more than annoying!

Thanks Folks. Appreciate all the well wishes.

Although a tad depressed over this, I realize it could be much worse.
Hoping very much that it will work itself out...

Fingers crossed.

Well, it ain't getting any better... :problem:

Found out on Friday I have colon cancer.
Early stages, so most likely they can deal with it.
Three Specialists now conferring on how to address the possibility of bleeding out during surgery due to the blood thinners.
Caught something of a break in the quality of those three fine gentlemen.
Here's hoping that is a new trend...

Spooked,

Thanks Norm. Appreciated Sir.

They believe it has been caught early.
Tested annually.
Now to get around the thin blood issue and get on with it.

Odd thing is I feel fine. Good in fact.
Good thing for those tests or I would have never known.

Cheers,
Matt

Matt,

My wife Susan had colon cancer. Surgery with chemo. I'll be honest with you Chemo was pure hell on her! She fought it. 8 months later a second surgery. More drugs. Many a day passed with her thinking that this was "the end". BUT...it was NOT!

She has now been cancer free for the past 2 years. She goes every 3 months for a C-scan. All is good. Just went last week as a mater-of-fact. Her Oncologist said everything looks fine! She's back to being her mean onery self. And I wouldn't have her any other way!
I'm not a doctor, but I do know "The Ultimate Physician"!!

Colon cancer is one of the most survivable forms. Hang tough! I can assure you, You and "She Who Rules" will be in our prayers!!
