Field tips?

Post by DuckHunt »

Up until a couple seasons ago, I shot whatever field tips I've collected over the past 30+ years of bowhunting. I've eventually acquired enough of the right diameter for crossbow shafts (11/32). Whenever weight matching arrows, I would weight a dozen arrows, then weight a handful of tips. I would match them up accordingly to get the most complete arrows with the closest to the same weight.

Well, I'm going to have to find a new way to match arrow weights. After picking up a pack of Gold Tip EZ-Pull tips, I sort of like the stainless steel finish. I decided to try a different brand also in stainless. I ended up buying a pack of ZOEKO 100g tips in 11/32". I have to admit, so far I'm impressed. Out of the dozen tips, eleven weight exactly 100gr. One weighs 100.1gr so its the lone overachiever. In the past I'd be picking through tips ranging from 96 to 104 grains. Sure, that's probably close enough but with so many variables we can't control this is one that we can.

These have a small o-ring in them to keep them from coming loose and look pretty nice.

With all of the typical talk of broadheads, do any of you have a preferred field point and why?

The o-ring certainly adds value preventing points from loosening. They look perfect and the scale confirms that.
