Awsome Turkey Day

Post by longbow joe »

I was telling Dan the other day that it's been really crazy here work is insane buisy 10 to 11 hour days wifes got me building a shed in the backyard, only got out for trout once and had a good day...went for bass once and had some success. Today was turkey day and l had to move my daughter out of college at noon so 10 o'clock was my turkey hunting limit.
I love the crossbow but next week we have a graduation and my turkey day was literally "today" so l broke out the 30 year old new England 10 guage for the make it or break it hunt.
By 8 am my brother and l both had a gobbler and he shot a nice one too. We did a double with 4 gobblers coming in at once.
He's probably napping now l tried to get a picture of his bird ,out of all his legitimate turkey guns he chose a mossberg double barrel home defense gun lol.
He said turkey chokes are overated and who can argue the big bird dropped like a rock at 20 yards from the 18.5 improved cylinder gun.
I shot after him and the big 10 guage dropped a bird after probably 12 years in hibernation..gotta admit it was kinda cool for a change of weapon.crossbows don't kick the shoulder I bet I needed a good wack.
An awsome day for sure! I'm truly blessed! I'm tired as heck but there is nothing like a "turkey high " and the all day smile l gotstid
I wish everyone turkey success!
