Seed spreaders

Post by Boo »

I've had a Moultrie seed spreader with an electronic gate for about 5 years and it stopped working just as I was spreading urea for the corn. I need an electronic gate and a control unit. So I call up Moultrie and I find out that they do not sell anything to anyone in Canada. Dealers do not stock parts. So other than buying another expensive throw away Moultrie product, does anyone have an opinion on a decent ATV mounted seed spreader?
As a side note. I have bought products from Moultrie in the past. I talked to one person there and she said they will not send anything to Canada. A subsequent call connected me to a guy who initially said the same thing but after he checked on my name, he said they only send warranty parts. What garbage!

The problem is that it sits about 13" from where I sit on my side by side

My present Moultrie problem may be resolved. I got an email to say that they are sending me the parts "as a one-time courtesy we will replace under warranty.". While this is great, they said that "We have no way of taking a payment from Canada.". I think there is something grossly wrong with their business model. Anyways, I'm glad they came through for me and I hope I get my spreader working again.
Prices vs performance, I like Moultrie products. But looking at their dealer net work, it seems they are a US big box store vendor now. I've tried to order from big box stores and my experience is if it isn't in their catalogue, they aren't going to get it.
Crazy stuff but I guess it's a good problem to have.

If in the future you need parts from Moultrie, could someone 😎 in US order it and have it shipped to Canada? If it is just a problem with taking payment… might could work something out…

I think you meant 13' from where you sit instead of 13".
Glad to hear that Moultrie decided to do the correct thing and help you out. I can't figure out why Moultrie has a problem accepting a payment from Canada though. Have they not heard of the internet and Paypal and other choices for sending money direct? :wtf:
