Mental note to self: Don't hang curtains during hunting season.

Hope it heals quickly. With a little luck, you'll be 100% before you have to drag or load something real heavy. In the mean time, the Charger is your friend.

Broke my shoulder playing hockey and could not shoot my vertical bows for three years as I was scared as I could feel the strain. Good thing was I could shoot my Custom 115lb Vixen crossbow. That is how I got so heavy into pellet guns in my house is I have to shoot something everyday. These days I have been reduced to hunting flies with salt guns in summer months at my trailer. LOL

Sorry keith just be glad you didn't break your neck or something it could have been worse. Speedy recovery hopefully. One year I had motorcycle road rash and was on crutches for early part of archery slowed me down but still made it successful you will get through it.

Yeah, I know. In truth the super early season isn't tat great. I should be good to go well before the rut. Who knows, maybe this will help my form. Haha. I'm very thankful it's as minor as it is. Dove season (Sept 1) may be is jeopardy too, although I think a shotgun will be ok, even with a splint.

I'm just really excited to use the recurve you know. I shoot all year and feel a lot more confident this year out to 25.

It's going well! Arm doesn't hurt anymore when I do stuff so the cast is just an annoyance at this point. I get it off on the 30th and hope to start shooting soon after. Thanks for asking!

Keith years ago in my forties l fell jumping a curb on my daughter's razor scooter on my back.
That injury plaged me for months...l always shot the 60# longbow and refused to go lower..all the years of the 60 pound trajectory in my brain would be hard to go to a 50 pounder.
Every time I pulled the 60 pound bow back l could die from the pain but after the first pinch l was good as ever for about a half hour
So l would just keep resetting my back drawing it in stand literally every half hour to not have it come back.
Eventually it all went away but it was rough .
I shot a nice nine pointer that year and it was funny but it was cold and l was very stiff and wasn't drawing every half hour ..but l remember the pain of drawing every time I look at his mounted head in my office.
It was unbelievable that l shot him perfectly at 30 yards.

NIIIce!

Yeah asked the doc when I could start shooting and explained to him to forget about pain and just tell me when I wouldn't cause any damage to my arm. He looked at me like I was stupid. I think all he sees are folks who want to be 1000% pain free and will sit on their a$$ and do nothing and take a pill rather than feel any twinge of discomfort.

Anyway....pulling on stuff doesn't seem to bother my arm, but we'll see once the cast is off. I might need a brace....or maybe some cool leather arm guards like the vikings used to wear...
