I shoot 17" arrows out of my Matrix 350 LE so I would think you will need an 18" for the longer draw length. I am currently using 125 grain heads and a lighted nock to get the total weight up to 449 grains.

If you are going to use the arrows that came with the package use 125 grains or heavier. I too cut mine to 18” for my matrix 380.

As a general rule the heaver set ups get better performance, pentation, sound reduction, accuracy, arrow to arrow consistency, easier on the limbs , ect.
I recommend a brass insert and a heavy broadhead 125 gr or up.
For overall length you want the bolt and head to reach the far side of the foot stirrup but not extending past the outside of the stirrup.

125 grains or heavier! Excalibur makes them to use 150 grains and that is why the field points are that weight in their packages. I don't remember the insert of the top of my head, but I think it 30 grains. I would recommend getting some Zombie Slayers personally. I think the heavier brass inserts make it easy to get broadheads 100 grains if you wish, but with the stock arrows, I would not want to exert the force on my bow by using lighter arrows.

Question:
What type of game are you goning to hunt with the 380?
Is it mainly Deer? Or are Moose, Elk and or Black Bear going to be thrown into the equation? :eusa-think:

If I owned a Matrix 380, I'd get someone like Normous to build me some of his "Super Spanker" arrows or I'd contact Dave @ Wyvern's Creations and order some of the new arrows he's building that are made to have a total grain weight of 500g with a 100g broadhead. But then again I'd still probably shoot a 125g broadhead.

Deer only...then BEZ's with 110 grains of brass up front. And a good 125g head. And have fun!

He's shooting deer only , would 20" BEZ shoot better due to more weight?

20 inch zombie slayers with 125 grain broadheads.

I go with a Zombie Slayer arrow short enough to keep the BH inside the stirrup
Add a 110gr brass insert , Blazer vanes and a Lumenok
Then add a 200gr fixed blade BH.

Be a pretty good setup for most things in North America.
