Good morning ,

1st post here and 1st crossbow ,

Boo pointed me in this direction,

I recently purchased a mag 340 and it delivered yesterday. I read some info prior to purchase and went ahead a got a cease fire trigger

2 quick questions

Does the safety on engage when the crossbow is cocked, does not seem to lock in when not cocked

Also saw some discussions on lumenoks , I ordered 6 of these as well can you use them with the cease fire

Thanks
Frank
The safety still needs to be OFF in order to cock the bow. Once it's cocked, place the safety on.

The trigger unit has to be in the cocked position in order to engage the safety. Lumenoks will work within their respective arrows. So the regular Lumenok will work as long as it goes into a bare shaft but the OE arrows need a special nock and Lumenok. You do not need Rhino nocks for the Ceasefire units but if you don't use them, there is more effort to seat the arrow.

Are you planning on discharging the bow at the end of the shooting session? If you are decocking, you may want to use that little rope cocking tool a few times before going out.

I finally had time to test my micro 335 with the cease fire.

Made an interesting discovery.

My previous 20yard zero shifted up about 4 inches.

Had to crank the vortex xbr down about 16 clicks to be on at 20. Almost out of vertical down adjustment. :(

This is telling me the ceasefire has built in moa thus allowing for more up adjustments for long Range shooting if using a scope like the vortex xbr.

What does that little rope cocking tool look like?
Does it come with certain model Excaliburs?

Is the purpose of that to use a shorter rope by any chance? I have a hard time decocking with the long rope on other models.

If you want to decock a bow equipped with a ceasefire trigger without having to fire an arrow, you'll need the decocking tool. Since the ceasefire trigger will not discharge without an arrow loaded, this little tool simulates having an arrow loaded by pressing down on the same lever that an arrow would thus allowing the trigger to be pulled and the string released.

Unfortunately, it won't help issues decocking due to a long rope. If anything, it make make it harder by an inch or more because the cocking rope connects to the top of the tool while the bottom hook connects to the bow string. So the pull point will be an inch or more higher. About the only fix for that is to shorten the cocking rope. I have most of my ropes set to where I have to pull the string up 1/2 to 1 inch to put the cocking rope hooks on. When I'm not hunting, my cocking rope stays on the bow.
