Beautiful night to be out was breezy and cool.
Tonight brother decided not to hunt he was tired. Stubborn me did the 7/8 mile trek into the deep swamp l kicked up a Lotta deer going in the night looked promising I saw about 15 does and small bucks.
I was texting Dan and looking at my phone to pass time and l noticed some movement over at the yearly reaccuring scrap he was 31 yards out I wasn't sure he was big enough but when he turned l saw how wide he was and shot the vortex I heard the thunk then the buck was gone but the luminock bolt was there in the grass glowing away.
Lots of blood he went 35 yards from his hit with the big swat A-4 easy recovery.
I had to manually drag him about 200 yards before brother came from home with the deer cart and met me on the road and saved me.
My old body is sore and tired but l got the "deer high going "
Tomorrow I'm gonna be sore he weighted 228 pounds dressed and 24" wide . A real swamp toad I'm stoked l love these gnarly racks I'll take one every time over a perfect symmetrical one.
