Two Stubborn Old Men. Could be a good movie!
Congratulations on the deer! I’m still being patient in the last few days.

I bought a set of tire chains at an auction sale. They sat in my garage for years. Never used them. I wound up giving them away. I reached the conclusion that if I actually needed tire chains, I and my truck would simply stay at home.
If I recall your account correctly, you had a three tire chain deer hunt, having to replace three chains.
Man, Norm is a SISSY!! (This Norm, not the other one!)

The pass leading to/from Prince Rupert BC had a big sign over the road prohibiting travel without chains. That was 50 yrs or so.

I think a few have mentioned it before or many times before about writing a book. I'd take 3 signed copies.
The photo of the Rams had me returning to these photos 3 times....very cool.
Cheers and Happy New Year, glad your home safe.

Congratulations on your determination to overcome so many obstacles. I'm glad your hard work paid off in a successful hunt. It was also fascinating to learn that a guy from BC filled his freezer with whitetails, just like we do in far away Missouri. Good story and nice going!

The deer around these parts are all most 100 % nocturnal this time of year... I had a 115" 8 point on camera coming in almost every day, two hours after dark...

Re: Late Season Archery - The Ups & Downs
Interesting point I forgot...
That final day in Rock Creek we saw a healthy Cougar.
Season was open.
Had a tag.
But don't usually carry a rifle when bowhunting (obvious reasons).
It was out just over 100 yards.
May have to revisit the rifle packing consideration down the road...
Cheers,
