2023 Assassin 400 Extreme

Post by janesy »

Got my Assassin 400EX today. Pretty impressive little package, very basic and no frills. I only shot it once as the sun went down, but first impressions are good

As I'm off to the ATA tonight, I won't get to play with it much until Saturday. But for a reference. Bare bow only it weights, (no rubber thingies either).

7.4 pounds.

For comparison sake, my Supressor 400TD and my Axe340 both bare weight the same at

6.6 pounds

I also have an adjustable assassin 400TD here, and it weighs

8.25 pounds bare

All just weighted together. Only major difference is the 400EX has a Bigfoot stirrup, where the others do not. Otherwise the bows share the same options right down to the stocks.

I will say, the additional weight can be felt in hand, but goes away once shouldered and is actually welcome, as the weight is all right on the shoulder.

Congratulations on your acquisition Chris! I've always preferred solid colours in a bow.

I bought 2 assassin extremes. I haven't shot them yet and don't have a chronograph. What is the expected speed with a 400 grain arrow?

My Suppressor is around 375-380 if I recall correctly. I haven't ran the Assassin over the chrony yet, but I expect it's the same

Hey Janesy here's a fancy question for you....does a Mag riser bolt up to the A400EX rail? And if so are the limbs set forward a little less? But with less sweep? Wouldn't want to pull the standard micro limbs back that far still....but just doing some mind tinkering. :eusa-deadhorse:

Hey Tyler, I get around to checking. The rails on both are different shapes, so it kinds slipped my mind to check. But I think they are different
