O/T Gobbler Down

It's funny... on my way walking to my blind this morning, I was thinking about all the incredibly good luck and incredibly bad luck I have had over these 30 plus years of turkey hunting. This morning it was all good... I cut this guy off from his hens on the roost... I think I was in the blind for 15 minutes when he stepped out of the woods at 26 yards. He would have come all the way to the decoys and put on a show, I'm sure... but 26 was good enough for me and the safety came off... :D :D I'll have one of my Excalibur's in my hand the rest of the season.

Geez, we still have 2 feet of snow on the ground here and are 3 weeks away from season opening.

Congrats!

Thanks guys!

Mr. Boo… I used my Mossberg 500 on that bird, but I’ll be bow hunting the rest of the year… had to get a bird in the hand first…

Mr. Norm… the Stevens didn’t work out for various reasons… mostly because I have OCD and It didn’t meet my self imposed standards…

I can’t hunt again until April 1st… but it will be me and the Vortex back at it… I hit a bird high last year with it and and didn’t recover it…. Maybe we can redeem ourselves this year!
