Turkey 1 me zero

Post by Carnivorous »

Made it out for our Ontario spring Turkey season.

Haven't Turkey hunted in 2 years due life getting in the way.

First location called to a gobbling Tom for a few hours but he wouldn't show himself.

Moved closer to him and did a hen call to see if he would respond. He responded and was within 40 yards. He picked me off and made a run for it. I took aim and killed a sapling .

Yep that's Turkey hunting..lol

Had a Turkey hen walk over my front yard yesterday....in the center of our city for some odd reason.

Nice!

In my area of 92B the turkey numbers are not good. Or maybe they are avoiding me. 🤔

Jeff, consider setting up near their roost for a 6pm to 7 pm ambush with decoys. Afternoon hunting also has less pressure. Just an idea for you.

Me and the boy are going out tomorrow. Double chair blind and decoys are already in the woods. His Badlands pack is full of rice crispies squares, shot deadening earmuffs and his tablet.

I'm wired for sound, been waiting for today for 8 years.
