Not a Crossbow, but what a fish!!!

Post by AJ01 »

Down near Corpus Christi on the gulf coast is a a State Park which has pretty good fishing.

This fish made the local paper, and caught the eye of TPWD, since it was pulled from their State run park system.
Once the fish was landed, it was photographed, measured (with witnesses), weighed and then release to swim again.

Texas Parks and Wildlife thinks the Alligator Gar is about 40 years old. It measures over 90 inches in length and weighed over 200 pounds.
The State Record Gar is over 300 pounds.

Everything grows big in Texas!!
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming "Wow, What a Ride!

Wow that makes yesterday's catch of the day look like minnows... lol

A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

Amen to that!! My father in law was with DPS for a long time and then a county sheriff's deputy. He drove out to South Carolina the first time in about 1991. 1200 miles door to door. He stopped once to pee from there to here, drinking Ancient Age and coffee the whole way
