New string ?

Post by elkaholic »

Ok, I doubt my exomax has 40 shots down the rail.

It's been stored in a cloth case, always inside a closet, for the past 5 yrs. Yes it has been strung the whole time.

The string looks great. Always waxed,
I do need to adjust the distance from the R.E.D.s. its no where close to 3/8 in.
Do I twist from one end?
Do I try to keep string server equally centered between R.E.Ds.?
Do I use what looks to be original factory string . Or change it now?
I do have a new flemish string, from Dan

I just attached my Nikon P3 crossbow scope , on a new guardian rail.
I took off the original peep sight. It always was very accurate out to 30. Now that I'm elk hunting, I wanted a scope , so out to 60-70 is doable if needed.
Time to sight it in soon.

I would probably put the new Flemish string on set the brace height and sight in with that and keep the factory string as a backup.

Twisting from one end accomplishes the same thing as twisting from both ends. The total amount of twist in the string evenly distributes along the length of the string. The center serving is positioned where it is by the person that made the string, and no amount of twisting will be able to change that position, no matter how many videos Death by Bunjie makes on the topic ;)

Put on the new flemish you have and keep the other as a backup, like others have said.

Note !
twist the string counter clockwise,
if ya don't you will undo the serving.
