guardian anti dryfire design flaw.

i noticed yesterday that my anti-dryfire (and scope) can move. i slowly decocked my bow with the rope after hunting and forgot to press the anti dryfire button so it put all the bows string weight on the anti dryfire. i came home and took a few shots and everything hit low. i pulled up and down on my scope and could visually see that the the whole anti dryfire scope base can move, easy to see the movement by looking at the arrow hold down spring and the rail distance while pushing up and down on the scope. i was able to snug the allen bolts up just a hair but they were already pretty tight. the holes drilled through guardian anti dryfire are larger than the screws that go through it, allowing up and down play. the 4 holes REALLY should be countersunk with tapered screws from the factory to eliminate this play. has anyone on the forum countersunk the guardian anti dryfire holes to eliminate this problem? i am always going to be worried now that my scope may have gotten bumped and my anti dryfire (scope mount) has moved up or down a little.

I have not herd of this being a issue hopefully some one will chime in on this .
Are the stock screws tight ?

yes the stock screws are tight, its only the guardian scope mount that can move in its screw holes.

Definitely takes out the slop in the factory setup on them.

I think your problem with the movement is the screws under the stock that hold the trigger unit in place. Pull the stock and see if those screws are loose and if they are use blue loctite on them.

Thanks, that is exactly what i was looking to do. for now i just used four 8-32 x 5/16" socket cap allen screws, so i was able to tighten it much tighter than with the flimsy soft little button head factory screws. i also put some blue loctite on them, and when done there was no more wiggle. the new socket cap screws use a larger allen wrench, and are much deeper so the heads wont strip out easily, i did almost strip one of the factory screw heads trying to remove it, but i finally got it out.

Old news to most of us, even before the Guardian ADF the regular scope mount always benefited from countersinking the holes and using flat head screws. I've probably done it to a dozen bows for others that have asked. You're 100% correct in your observations. For most people just tightening the regular screws is satisfactory. Not me.
