Slow Season

Post by xcaliber »

We have found a house and we are moving next week. We had planned on another house but got out bid and started looking again. Found this one by accident really, and wife decided it was the perfect place. I fell in love immediately and so hunting comes later. Wish all of you good luck, and happy Holidays!
My photo bucket account got hacked so I’ll send a few pictures later.

Late season can be very good. :)
A touch of frost has heightened your awareness and your heart steadily beats in anticipation. Your senses are suddenly alert to the movement on the forest floor and you realize that the moment of truth is at hand.

Moving to a new house can be fun and then again a lot of work. I’ve been hunting but the deer are not cooperating. The big bucks on camera have disappeared so I’m going through pop whatever comes thru. Gun deer starts tomorrow but my area is bow only. Good luck to everybody!

Ouch!
Moving during the season...
Don't think I could do that myself.

Been slow here too.
But I did see THE BIGGEST Black Bear I have ever seen a couple days back.
If you know my history, that is saying something.
Putting some effort his way now, with the mad hope of an incidental Black Tail...

Best of Luck on the move!
Even more luck when you get back to The Pursuit!!

Cheers,

Our final day is the first Sunday of January. I’m hoping all goes smoothly. Thanks folks and good luck. I have an invitation for a muzzle loader hunt on a family farm that is lightly hunted. I did get a new muzzle loader but have not sighted it in yet.

Dan, I hope you guys get "settled" in time to go sit in the woods at least once before this season disappears!!
I hate to move, last time I did it was 17 years ago. What a pain!! You have my sympathy on that deal. :eusa-doh:
I cannot imagine moving this time of year. Good luck!!

Matt, I hope you get that monster Bruin!!
If you're saying he's the biggest you've ever seen, he must indeed be a TANK!
I look forward to pictures of this beast, with you grinning like a mad man holding up his massive melon!!
Best of luck!

The rut is still going on, I had a nice 8pt at 40yds and a broken off 6pt at 10yds from me. The 8 didn't give me a clear shot and I let the broken 6 walk.

I hope you get some decent weather for a late season hunt. Your weather is probably a lot like ours. December and January are mostly cold but we usually get a few nice days. The good part is the sun comes up later and you don't have to get up as early. Good luck!
