Ocular ring

Post by mchurch »

Does the ocular ring on a scope have any impact on point of impact if bumped or adjusted?

The ocular adjustment has no bearing on POI.

Scopes do not come out of factory production focused to YOUR eye. We have to focus the reticle ourselves by adjusting the ocular ring found at the rear most position on our scopes. It is best to watch how-to videos and use the same method a qualified eye doctor would use to determine your vision.

An eye doctor will always give you a quick view and ask " Better or Worse". We want to use the same technique when focusing the ocular and fine tune the reticle .

If you accidently bump the rear eyepiece ( the ocular end) it is possible to have have impacted your POI and scope POI needs to be re-checked and verified.

I might add, bumping your scope anywhere front, back or side may impact POI.
