I guess this forum has gone the way of the DODO bird. It served it purpose in the past, but appears that the "powers to be" have decided that it's not worth the bother to fix it. Oh well, all things must come to an end. Let's hope that Excalibur crossbows don't suffer the same fate.

I'm sure Excalibur will be fine. Social media has shifted away from these bulletin board style groups. There are a couple of different Excal groups on Facebook that are quite active. Excalibur Owners Group has 17,000 members and lots of daily traffic. That's where folks are "hanging out" these days.

And I am not at all hesitant to state that.

The SHAMEFUL thing is it doesn't have to be that way.
I suspect the highers ups no longer give a $hit, and thus they let this fine forum fall apart.
Beyond SHAMEFUL when the fix could be made so easily.

I doubt the fix is very easy. It likely will involve buying new forum software and paying a third party to set it up and that can be costly. I believe Peter was the driving force behind keeping this forum going and now that he's retired it' looks like no one has decided to carry on with supporting this platform and quite honestly I get it to a point. Social media has changed a lot over the years and these "bulletin board" style forums in general are going the way of the dinosaur. I certainly miss the hey day of this forum, back when you could spend and evening on here keeping up with the conversations, back when we used to have "meet and greet" get togethers with each other and of course the annual and legendary Boofest gatherings. But times have changed. The traffic on here slowed down to a crawl years ago. Times have changed, it's probably time to move on and certainly leave here with MANY great memories, experiences and friendships.

In the grand scheme of things, it is not overly costly.
I am a member of several forums on the mid to smallish size.
On one, we have regular raffles etc to cover the costs - same could be done here.

For the amount of Good Will towards The Brand, for the amount of lasting and firm friendships it creates, for the amount of information transfer that occurs, it would be well worth it IMO.

And again, it is indeed a SHAME that this once Fine Forum is being allowed to die...
