I took this "speed goat" at around 250 yards useing my 25-06 T/C Encore. New Mexico has a special 3 day season for disabled hunters the first week in August and the temp. was over 90 when I shot him. My guide and I decided to find a cooler place to clean him, that's why you see so much green..
As for the meat,I didn't like it at all and gave it away..
They have a "special" hunt for elk also but drawing a tag is hard, they only give out about 75 tags state wide and I have tryed since 2003 with no luck at all! Some day I will hit the "LOTTERY" and NM here I come...
