Well, I just got in from outside..wind chill is around 10 deg. F, but the Down Parka, Under Armour Balaclava, and Rabbit Fur Hat (my wife calls it my "Elmer Fudd Hat"!!)
has kept me warm.
I shot from 30 yards in my side yard range. Gold Tip Laser 2's with 3 - 4" feathers and Thunderhead 85 gr. BH's.
I am truly amazed at the ease of steadiness the wood stock has given me!, in fact, the thumbhole now puts my right hand and trigger finger in a comfortable, steady position. I shot my Vixen 12 times, all shots were within a 3" circle at 30 yards.
Note: I am shooting in a semi-sitting/kneeling position. That is, my knees are NOT touching the ground..sort of squatting and balancing.
Once again, the wood stock has been a BIG IMPROVEMENT as far as
ACCURACY
APPEARANCE
STEADINESS
over the synthetic stock. I can't say enough good things about it.
Finally, I also added a stabilizer I got from one of my compound bows. I drilled and tapped a hole for the Cobra Knuckle Stabilizer. I don't know if it helps or not, but it is definately smoother than before!!
