Bear Shot Selection..

Post by Woody Williams »

From another site..

With a crossbow - 25 yards away and you are 15 foot up a tree.

Which shots would you NOT take?

2: Quartering to; into shoulder
3: Quartering away; but leg/shoulder in the way
6: Same as 2

The above are all "no shoot" scenrios

The remaining shots seem to be OK from the ground, but I would say they also could be iffy shot from 15 feet up a tree, since they would seem to be too low to hit good vitals, if aiming at the green dot.

I suggest taking shot #1.
# 3 it seems as though the right leg is the one that is forward.
Git er done, and make sure it is done right!

I would pass on 2, 3, & 6. I would take the 3 shot when he steps forward with his near leg. All the others are dead bear.
Get out & Enjoy.

1 & 5 look like good shots.
2 & 6 definately pass.
3 questionable (is it moving?)
4 questionable (looking right at me, depends on it's level of alert)

pass on #2, #3, and #6.

Actually the bear's vitals are further back than a WT deer's.
