I've seen the video and don't like it. Please don't misunderstand me, I LOVE Excal crossbows and bought 3 of them within one year. I respect Bill and Kathy for what they've done.
But sitting in a bunker and wait until an animal comes to drink some water to shoot it isn't very exciting for me.
I can't understand the fun of killing. Hunting to get some meat is a great thing but going on safari to kill some exotic animals would never be my way.
Please don't get me wrong, I wish that there are some of you who tolerate a different opinion. (Though I expect some offenses now...)

Richard , at 1st I was taken but the thought of sitting in a bunker also, but futher into the type I began to understand the tecknec they were useing. its the same as me sitting over a baited stand. Still there is no garenties as Bill stated on the type. He also showed he did sit in brush blinds. But the type was more to demenstrait the accucery of his product. I got a kick out of seeing Kathy get so excited. My wife even watched something to do with hunting for the 1st time. LOL When she heard a womans voise on the screan.

Our whole family(2 boys, wife and I) have sat and watched the whole thing together at least 4 times. We love it. If I had the time and money I would never pass up the opertunity to project a bolt through any of those bad boys. By the way I respect your opinion Richard. I dont believe those wired up beast are too easy to get close to(for crossbow range) out in the open or very many other places. But I dont know that for sure.

Although I have not seen the video, Im inclined to agree with Richard except, with a crossbow you still have to get the animal to come in fairly close. Using a rifle is like shooting fish in a barrel around an african watering hole. Just my thoughts.

I've killed three animals off of water holes. All pronghorn antelope.

Not quite as easy as it seems.

Sometimes:

1) There are other waterholes they go to.

2) They come in facing you offering no shot at all

3) Too many come in at once and spot you

4) Too many come in at once and line up to drink side by side. Shoot one and you'll get two, three or more.

I see hunting a water hole no diferent than hunting a bear bait.

Question - If Bill and Kath had been just hiding in the bushes would that have been OK? In other words - was it the man made "bunker" that you really didn't like?

Ted says a July 2005 episode of SOTW will be dedicated to x-bows.
