Another Question

I would like to ask if anyone uses a range finder, and what type they use. Is there such a beast as a mono range finder for I only need the thing to be accurate out to say 50 yards. For some reason I don't like to carry anything bulky in the woods, I have a hard enough time carrying binoculars and most of the time I don't.

Maritimer I use the bushnel scout. It is a nice comfortable small unit that will range from 11 yards out to over 500. Some units do not range inside of 30 - 40 yards, for bow hunting, these are no good.

Good luck in your search.

Nikon 440
It's a lillle more compact than the Bushnell Sport I had, and has zip & scan modes, so it's able to read through foreground clutter & read on a moving object.

I use the Bushnell Yardage Pro Scout. Good from 10 yds. to 300 yds. on deer etc. I have had it 3 years and have only replaced the battery 1 time.

Works outstanding.

I am using a Leica LRF 1200, measures from 10 to 1200 yards and has 7X optics that are crisp and clear, in fact they are good enough that I often do not carry bino's any more, I just use the rangefinder.
