Dick Cabela.

Post by Hot Pepper Dude » Mon Feb 24, 2014 5:47 pm

A very sad day for all American, Canadian, and others involved in the outdoor sports involving firearms. Dick Cabela has passed away at the age of 77. He started from his spam selling fishing flies, and grew the business to become North Americas number one retailer of all things outdoors.

Here in Canada, we will celebrate his legacy with a new store to open in Barrie Ontario this June/July. It will do great business for sure.

Regards, H.P.D.

R.I.P. Dick.
We made up spoons in the early seventies for fishing Canada ..35 cents a piece finished if I recall correctly, still prized and only a couple left.A pike claimed one of them, well scarred, a couple years back. We built spinners then also. All from a Cabela's black and white catalog about 3/8 inch thick. The company and I share the same age.
