My neighbor's kid returned from the Coast Guard after 6 years. He left right after High School at 18, just a boy really. Came home at 24 a grown man. I can't even explain the changes in him, but truly admire what the experiences have molded him into. He is the step brother of my apprentice, and has signed on to a local job as a controls electrician. He will be hunting with us this fall, and who knows how many more.

Damn glad he's home, and so proud of his service!

I left home at 17 and joined the Coast Guard. Best thing I ever did.
