am taking the plunge. Was prepared to purchase a Barnett Quad-400 from SIRmailorder this weekend but talked to a owner/operator of an archery range in town. He talked up the Excalibur line and even let me try out his Exocet 200.
I liked it, unfortunately, the available Exomax 225 was sold already. But he ordered another for stock and I have already put my name on it. It will be in maybe Tuesday. Got home and realized I never asked him, was it a 2005 model or would it be one of the new 2006 ones. Stupid question, really. Don't know if there is a difference, or even if like cars, the new models come out in the fall the previous year.
Anyone know the differences? Like will it come with the Flemish string or not?(not that I really understand what makes the Flemish string better)
Will just have to wait until Tues or Wed to get my hands on my new crossbow.

The new batch of bows (2006 in this case) usually come out around March/April. So the one you'll get will classified as a 2005. As far as the string, more than likely it will come with the Excel (machine made) string. Like anything else it has it's pros and cons. It isn't a bad string, it doesn't stretch much, which is a pro, unlike the Flemish fastflight, but it appears to be a bit noisier and the brace height can't be adjusted as much as with the fastflight.
