Thank you DJH:

I got mine yesterday. Only took a couple of days to get here.
I appreciate it, and the quick reply. 8)

KILL THEM WITH KINDNESS - THEY HATE IT!

Post by DJH »

Bstout – I share some of the same feelings you do about those who shun the crossbow and crossbow hunters. However, in my situation, it is not a matter of me not talking to them, but them not talking to me. We attended the Archery Trade Association’s annual gathering the first of the month and I had a ball. Everyone who is from the archery industry was there.

When I first got pulled into this Crossbow Magazine thing four plus years ago, I was sheepish and walked around feeling guilty most of the time. The first ATA show I attended after HBM’s kickoff, I was stunned to discover that folks I had known for years and considered to be friends, wouldn’t even look at me let alone talk to me. Being a people person, I was crushed by this rude treatment.

It is now four-plus years later and guess what? I don’t care anymore! When at trade or consumer shows or in any other “enemy territory”, I hold my head up high and look’um in the eye. With a certain amount of pride, I might add. I have never been more sure of being right about my course and beliefs in my life. The more I communicate with these sorry, lacking individuals who insist on beating up crossbows and crossbow hunters, the better they make me feel. What a bunch of selfish, egotistical, arrogant, hypocritical sad sacks! And when I see them, I smile and greet them nicely and with confidence. I love to respond to their hateful disgust for me by “killing them with polite kindness”. It’s my way of letting them know that me, my kind and our crossbow are here to stay. Being nice is more of a slap in the face to them than throwing stones at them. Give it a try next time, bstout. Not only is it productive, but it is a lot of fun and it makes you feel really good about yourself, also. KILL THEM WITH KINDNESS – THEY HATE IT!

Thanks for the complimentary copy, Dan. I just got it today and I will get a check in the mail tomorrow for a subscription. I look forward to sharing some of the great hunts in future issues (via the authors stories) and also some of the tips from some much more knowledgeable crossbow hunters.

A. Watson from Toronto, Ontario - Please resend your mailing address. I sent you a complimentary issue of HBM and it came back as undeliverable. I cut and pasted your address right from your request, but obviously something was wrong. Please resend your address and I will resend your magazine. Sorry for the delay.
