new excalibur owner saying hi

Post by sclitaco »

Hello folks, new guy here. Just purchased my first Excalibur this week, and cant wait to put it to use. I do have a question for you wise folks here, how do I determine the age of my bow? It is an Exocet with carved tips, the safety is automatic, and located on the side of the rail (not on the back like I see on the newer ones). any info you can give would be terrific! Thanks, Scott.

Carved tip Exocets were the first of the Exo family made from 1992 till 2000 and were 165 lb draw. Yours must be from the first few as I have never seen an Exocet with an automatic saftey. I thought my Wolverine hadthe last of the auto safetys.

Welcome!!!!
It sounds like you might have a real collector's item there. Now you're faced with the decision of whether to hunt with it or not. But then, that's why Excaliburs are made - to hunt with! If it were mine, I'd probably treat it with care and use it to hunt with. If it's got carved limbs just be sure to get the right string for it - NO FASTFLIGHT STRINGS!!!
