Heaters In A Ground Blind
I use a battery op. CO detector in my trailer because I have a propane stove/oven as well as a furnace. After I open the trailer up on the weekends it's the first thing I turn on.
Crappy Tire has them for about $20-25.

curmudgeon.
I have 2 discs gone in my lowere back by the belt line.
I bought a similar chair to this one at walmart for about $9.00CAN about 3 years ago. Folds up, comes with a bag and doesn't squeak. Easy to strap onto the top of my daypack.
I find that it forms to the shape of my spine and I never get a sore back sitting. Actually supports my back really well.
Because there are no arms on it I find it easier to turn/spin in the seat if I have to. It may be too comfortable because I tend to nod off.

Heaters in a Ground Blind
How quiet are these heaters ? have an older one and cant hear anything outside of blind for the hissing sound it makes. Hawk
heater in a blind
i use a mr heater propane buddy takes 1lb bottles or with an adapter hose a 20lb best thing since sliced bread
Re: Heaters in a Ground Blind
The Catalytic Heater is usually extreemly quiet. I also have an older version that is very loud, I would not use it in a blind, but the Catalytic Heater I use. I believe that the larger versions are a little more loud.Leonard Hawkins wrote:How quiet are these heaters ? have an older one and cant hear anything outside of blind for the hissing sound it makes. The only one I've found that is really quiet is the SportCat. It doesn't put out a lot of heat, but it's quiet and odorless.

We don't need heaters much here in Arkansas either, but I used to go ice fishing w/ a pal in Illinois and he used a Coleman lantern w/ a certain size tin can that fits right over it. We used to cook/make coffee on it. He took an old timey beer can opener to the can around the edge where it fastens to the bottom.

Read all the posts and have a bid on a new coleman Black Cat catalyic heater and next choice is a Sport Cat. Both are supposed to be QUIET. Hawk ( thanks for input)
Hawk,
I have both - the black cat and the sport cat, and the black cat does make a hissssssss you can hear. Not bad, but an audible hiss. The sport cat I have to turn on high and put my ear (with the heater unlit!
) right against the screen to hear any noise. The black cat puts out twice the heat, though.

Wabi, How loud is blackcat when turned down low? quiet enough for bowhunting? Which one would you recommend ? I use a home made wooden blind and need to hear what is going on around me.I know a pop-up would let me hear better but this blind is permanent. Hawk
