Crossbow rack pictures wanted
Crossbow rack pictures wanted
I just planned up a whole chitload of black cherry lumber and want to build two crossbow racks so I can always feast my eyes on my Excaliburs hanging on the wall.
I'm a good woodworker but need some ideas of different crossbow racks. If anyone has links to or pictures of racks please post them. When mine are done I'll post pictures.
I also gott get rifles out of every corner so gonna build three or four rifle racks also. Safe has been full for years!

DrDan both racks shown are really nice. A little thought and one can come up with many ideas on a very nice looking rack.
Myself I have 4 hanging and all 4 are different and am working on one with a deer cut out for a back ground. Problem with a back ground picture or cut out once the arrows and crossbows are in/on the rack they kinda hide the back ground detail.
I am sure you will come up with a really nice one ....

Should work DrDan, as for leaving on broad heads all you do is slot the top bar/shelf then using as you stated split surgical tubing or foam to hold the arrows in the slots.DrDan wrote:Only problem with all that I have seen so far is that can't put a broadhead tipped bolt into rack withou taking the head off. I think small pieces of surgical tubing or springs will hold the top of the bolt so can leave the tip on.
Gary L. How about two deer one on each side of center?

I'm a bachelor so no kids around here except grandson and HE KNOWS THEY SHARP! He has been learning to sharpen knives so he already saw how sharp they are.
Yes Gary L gave me an idea about the deer and also the broadhead shapes. I love doing fine scroll saw work so may make the deer or arrowhead shapes in a contrasting color and then lay them over a lighter color wood.
I'll post pictures when I get one done.
Unfortunately for me, I saw plans last night on web for a gun cabinet that has glass on all four sides and a turntable that rotates guns on lazy susan affair. Man it had trim like a grandfather clock and will no doubt be a two month project, but it sure was neat. Never saw one like that and didn't take up lots of room which is nice when you live in a 900 sq ft house LOL
DrDan Thanks all for the ideas
