I HAVE TO AGREE THAT THE SLIK TRICKS ARE THE TICKET. THEY HIT ALMOST EXACTLY WHERE MY FIELD POINTS HIT AND NOTHING TO GO MECHANICALLY WRONG.

As enormous said, definately do a search.

I use a Muzzy 100 grain 4 blade and it flies true up to the 300+ fps speed. It is not a mechanical.

If you decide to use a mechanical, be sure it will not fly open during the extreme accelleration of a crossbow. If it uses rubber bands to hold it together, you may need to double band them.

I like the NAP 100 grain shockwave mechanical. Because of its design, it is difficult to double band. What I do is use the small rubber bands made for Rocket 100 grain Steelheads and move them up on the shockwave to about the mid section. They do not fly open during accellereation and they still open easily upon contact. You can buy packs of the Rocket rubber bands wherever you buy your broadheads.
I never was as good as I used to be.

There are a few new designs on the broadhead market for 2007 which are very interesting. I have tested several broadheads over the last few months and I really like the Slick Tricks . . .they group as well as any out there. The mechanicals and fixed blades have their pros and cons. You will find either one will shoot straight if the bow/bolt are well tuned.

I want to test the new Crimson HyperSpeed broadheads . . .however, I think to get the max performance out of those, you would need to use a 2" vane(maybe even smaller vane).

Search "broadhead tests" on any search engine and you will get a lot of information. Several great links have been posted on this forum in the last couple of months. Get educated about the entire set-up and put off committing to a specific broadhead until you get comfortable with shooting your new weapon with field tips. Well, unless you have a hunt coming up soon.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

I also shoot the Slick Tricks with good success. They are only 1/2 inch low and right at 40 yards with the same setting as my field points. There are some here that have had worse results though so you have to try for yourself and see.

I use Wasp JakHammer 1 3/4" cutting diameter with my Phoenix.
Old fashioned style banded mechanicals, but I've never lost a deer with one! Just double band them from the crossbow. Group right with field points, and the blades are easily replaced.

I haven't heard anything bad from the 12+ deer that the Wasp Boss 1oo gr 3 blade have zipped thru. And for some reason or other they also impact the target the same as my field points.

Wish I could say the same for the Slick Tricks I tried.
