Second Day - 6 pointer!!!

Post by Alaspan »

Hey Guys,

Been back and forth to camp all week, this weather is crazy warm.
Oct. 1st, opening day, WMU 63A, 6:05 pm, my brother in law drops a 7 pointer from 15 yards, he travelled 20 yards and dropped, Excalibur Exocet does it again.

Oct. 2nd, second day in the field, 9:00 a.m. after talking on the radio and deciding to go stalk, I turn to clip my bow on to the rope to lower it and see a nice buck 20 yds out. He advances, cautiously, but ends up into a shooting lane. Shot placement went in high, and father back than I expected, but I was quite twisted in my stand to make the shot. Arrow exits low, great blood trail, love those Slick Tricks. Buck recovered about 30-35 yards from impact site. Nice little 6 pointer, 137 pounds. My first buck with the Exocet, second deer with it. Thanks for all the advice guys.

I have no clue how to score this, but here's one for team 'Boiler Room.'

Great job Dave. No pressure for the rest of the season. :D

The bush still looks pretty green, eh? Not "autumn" looking at all. No wonder he snuck up on ya.

Hey Alaspan,

Nice buck and thanks for putting one in there for the team.

I have not been so fortunate yet. Was out in the tree stand a few times last week but have been doing battle with the coyotes. May have to thin one or two out of the pack now as they have started following me out of the tree stand at night after the hunt.

Not a warm feeling when the hunter becomes the hunted.
They have become very bold now.

Anyways, hope to add my share soon!
