Is anybody interested in a 2007 Exocet for sale

Post by dick195252 »

I am thinking about selling my 2007 Exocet 200 with Vari Zone scope and mounts and one factory string. it is only 7 months old in Great shape. A proven Deer Slayer Shot one on Christmas Eve. I was thinking about asking $450.00 plus true cost of shipping. I really think i need to have the Exomax before it kills me. Well just putting feelers out please let me know what you all think on the price and any other comments you might have and please do not hold back   I would be willing to send pictures if some one is truely interested.

rather than trying to sell for cash; then trying to buy a new bow with that cash... See if anyone is willing to trade. A lot of people buy the max,and find out it is too much bow for them.

Maybe offer $100 or something with the trade if there are no biters right away.

Dick, I feel that you should look before you leap. I suggest that you research and test drive a Exomax before you get one. Even your Exocet 200, is more bow than is needed.

I personally know several folks who have replaced their Max with either a Phoenix or Exocet. For them less was more. Just something to think about.

$450 is a very fair price for an Exocet/Varizone, it should sell quickly. Don't really see the need to switch to the Max, what are your reasons for wanting to upgrade. Bigger is not always better, that extra poundage will come at a price some day (more wear and tear on the bow).

I think that price is really good for the buyer. However, I think you are making a bad move. No offence to you Exomax owners but I think the 200 lb bows are perfect for hunting anything anywhere. In North America 99% of hunting can be done with much less. However, life is way too short so have fun!

Droptine,

How much more dead will your Max kill a moose than my Exocet. :D :D

When I was into the sport of PPC (Police Pistol Combat) where one had a set time limit to fire a set number shots, there was a saying which went like this:

First you get good (i.e. accurate), then you get fast.

In other words it wasn't the fast shooter who achieved the high scores, but rather the accurate one.
The same holds true in hunting, it's not speed that assures a kill, it's accuracy.

In all the years of shooting Excaliburs, I've come to realize that the most accurate and stable xbows were the ones shooting arrows at sub 300 fps speeds.

So if you must own a Equinox / Max you'd be better off by far if you use strings and arrows heavy enough to achieve those speeds.

I bought the Equinox (thumbhole version of the max) it was too much bow for me. Practice became a chore, serving strings every 60-70 shots. Switched to the Vortex (thumbhole version of what you have now) and can live with it much better. Lost only 15 fps when using 24 strand Flemish Fastflite string. Complete passthrough on 2 mature deer. More fun to shoot. Serving lasts much longer. Not trying to change your mind, just prevent the expense of my experience.
