Received a call from a friend this afternoon, He had a great idea and made me an offer. He would bring the crawfish, and the cold beer.

Only if I would boil them, hmmm.

Sure, let's do it.

They taste pretty bad, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

If you ever get a chance to try them, don't pass it up, you don't know what you are missing! If they are seasoned right!

Bstout- don't know anything about the passing salt thing, I take it you sprinkle the tail with it before you eat it.

And yes, you can't beat them for bait this time of year.(especially down here)

Most of us just eat the tail, but some splits the head back and suck it.( I know what you all are thinking,but don't)

The head has alot of fat and juice from the boil in it that makes it tasty.

I wish I could describe the taste, but I wouldn't know where to begin. No, it has it's own taste. I usually boil a few sacks during the season and pick the meat and freeze it. We make crawfish stew,gumbo,fettucine,etc. and many other dishes. Nothing beats a crawfish omelet the next morning!

I go absolutely crazy for crawfish.

My taste for this food goes back to my days in the early 80's doing some consultant work for the Times Picayune newspaper in New Orleans.

I would have crawfish or BBQ hot shrimp every evening for dinner. I just couldn't get enough of them.

There are foods I crave from all over the world (no comments about the waist line needed here) that I have found.

Crawfish rate right up there in the top ten.

Everyone should experience this taste treat once in your life!

The wife makes this up a few times a year, with the craw fish she throws in shrimp, corn on the cob broken in half, sausage and little round potatoes. It is a lot of food, and the whole family sticks around through the entire meal.

Seeing that photo just means we are going to be doing it again all that much sooner.
