A couple of weeks ago I went to New Orleans for a little vacation. One day we went on a Plantation tour, the name of the Plantation was Oak Alley. The entrance to the home was lined with giant oak trees, similar in trunk diamater to the one pictured. The guide told us that the trees were approximately 300 years old and had a life expectancy of about 600 years.
