Took some of this years doe and made a little stew. It's called stand up stew because it was made at hunting camp one year. One guy goes over to taste it, comments on how good it was, the next guy goes over... and before long the entire slow cooker full of stew was gone while the guys were STANDING UP over the pot.
Real easy....
Take one medium onion, peel it and slice it about 1/4" think
Lay complete slices on the bottom of a slow cooker (crock pot) cover the entire bottom.
Put 2" chunks of venison on the onion (I use about 2 to 2 1/2 lbs)
Pour over the top of the meat:
1 can chedar cheese soup
1 can golden mushroom soup
1 can french onion soup
Don't stir!
Turn slow cooker on high and let simmer about 4 hours.
Throw in two 16 oz bags frozen stew vegitables.
stirr.
Let it go about 4 more hours or until the potatoes are soft.
Get a spoon and STAND UP AND EAT!!!
There are plenty of variations to this... you can use a roast instead of chunks. You can use fresh vegies instead of frozen (but the frozen are so convient).
ENJOY!!
