Team Alabama Check-in

Post by DeepSouthHunter »

Chris, Sipsey, or anyone else from Alabama had any success yet this year? It's been a frustrating season so far for me because I have not been hunting but once on opening day. I saw a few does but none presented a shot opportunity. I have been kept busy with work and renovating a room in my house for a new arrival in Feb. I had planned on hunting hard the first month of the season but sometimes life just gets in the way. I hope you guys are having better luck and more time in the field. Let me know...

It has been a very tough season for me. I have spent a lot of time, around 13 days, in the woods, but the weather has been bad. It has been so hot and windy the deer just have not been moving much. I don't mind the wind, except when it keeps changing directions like it has been doing. I got some blood from a spike a couple of weeks ago but he will live on. I had a 4 point jump string and duck my arrow last week at forty yards. I did manage to kill a doe this morning with my muzzleloader.

Good luck and best wishes for the season and especially the new arrival!

Thanks Ed. This will be daughter #2. Congrats on the doe. It looks like we are starting to get some cooler weather now.
