Just ordered Exocet 175
Just ordered Exocet 175
Well I just ordered an Exocet 175 from Dan Miller. I sold an exomax about two years ago and just used my Vbow.( wont make that mistake again). But anyway Im tickled to own an Excalibur again. I was wondering how many have owned an excocet 175 and what you think of it. I thought the exomax was neat but Im looking forward shooting the 175.
By the way I know its been said before but Dan Miller was great to deal with.

Re: Just ordered Exocet 175
Do you mean an Exocet 200 or is the bow an older one? I have 2 175s. One came with a straight riser and the other came with a forward riser which I promptly replace with a straight riser. For high volume shooting the 175 with a straight riser is pretty hard to beat. They even feel smoother to cock than the Vixen.

Re: Just ordered Exocet 175
It is a used 175 and it should have the mag tips. Dan gave me a choice between the 175 and a 200. i took the 175. im not sure about the riser.

Man . . .if it's smoother than the Vixen, then you are going to love it.
Good to see you back Tim!

Sorry, it has to be a straight riser (all 175s has straight risers). I'm talking to Danny as I type and he says that it is a machined riser. It's probably one of the best if not the best around bow for hunting and shooting. Very nice bow!

A bit of history on the Excaliburs
For those who are interested in knowing.
Up to 2003, all Excaliburs models were equipped with straight risers. In 2004, with the introduction of the angled riser, resulting in forward facing limbs, the Exomag became the Exomax . In 2005 the Exocet175 was equipped with an angled riser thus increasing its draw weight to 200lbs and became known as the Exocet 200. The Phoenix with a 14" power stroke ( a Vixen with an angled riser) was also introduced. The Vixen remained the same as previous year models, (i.e. had a 14" power stroke and sported a straight riser).
In 2006 the Phoenix's power stroke was increased by .5" to 14.5", while the Vixen's power stroke was decreased by .5" to 13.5" and was equipped with an angled riser.
Personally I have to agree with Boo. The Exocet175 was one of the best Excalibur ever. It is only topped by the Exomag. Fortunately, I own both.
Having owned a Max, Phoenix and Vortex and a Vixen in the past, I had no qualms selling them. However, I'll never part with either my beloved Exomag or Exocet175.

Great info thanks.
Have they always had machined risers since the exo line came out?

I have a Exocet 175 and its a great bow. I have killed a bunch of deer with it. I dont know why anyone would ever need anything else. If I were to by a new excalibur today it would be a Phoenix 175.
